Dr. Hernandez grew up as a proud Puerto Rican in the South Bronx, translating for his mother at doctor's visits where the waits were long and the care felt rushed and impersonal. As a teenager, witnessing a man die from a drug overdose in his neighborhood further strengthened his commitment to medicine and to serving the community that raised him. Those experiences shaped a lifelong goal: to build a practice where neighbors are welcomed like family, not processed like paperwork.

After medical school, he returned home to complete his residency in Social Medicine Internal Medicine in the Bronx, training built on the belief that the best care comes from doctors who live, work, and raise their own families in the communities they serve. That philosophy continues to guide his practice today, where every patient is treated with compassion, respect, and the personal attention they deserve.
